AUPN Executive & Standing Committees, Advisory Groups and Working Groups

The role of the Executive Committee:

The AUPN Executive Committee's objective is to encourage a community of leading edge procurement practices in Australian universities through the facilitation of a co-ordinated approach, a proactive agenda for the national procurement conference, improved communications and opportunities for the gaining and sharing of business knowledge.

The role of the Standing Committees:

In 2009, the AUPN Executive Committee determined to form three Standing Committees to assist the work of the Executive and to leverage off the findings from the Benchmarking Programme (ANHEPBP) in an efficient and effective manner. Standing Committees operate to progress specific issues, developing concepts and discussion papers for wider consideration through the Executive.

The activities of these Standing Committees are reviewed each year to ensure they remain relevant. In 2011, the activities of the BPI SC were absorbed into the Executive Committee and a new SC was created to focus specifically on developing governance and processes by which Working Groups would drive collaborative agreements for the sector or areas of the sector. The commodities or services to be considered are identified by individuals, regions or the sector as a whole.
