The Australian Universities Procurement Network
The Australian Universities Procurement Network initiative is managed by HES and has been actively involved in promoting best practice in procurement in Australian Universities since 2001. The AUPN Executive Committee comprises volunteers from nine Australian Universities and was the Advisory body behind the Australian National Higher Education Procurement Benchmarking Programme (ANHEPBP), a national initiative funded by the Australian Government's Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Twenty-nine universities took part in this extensive benchmarking initiative. The AUPN is actively involved in Procurement Capability, Sustainable Procurement and Strategic Procurement & Business Process Improvement in the sector through three Standing Committees, working in collaboration with other bodies such as the Government's Australian Procurement and Construction Council (APCC) and CIPSA. The AUPN supports aggregated procurement opportunities for universities on both a national and regional basis and provides a strong national network for procurement professionals in Australian universities.

Travelex
Foreign currency is playing an increasing role in the day to day operations of Australian universities and higher education institutions. Whether it be incoming flows such as research grants, student fees or US Federal loans; or outgoing payments for travel, subscriptions, capital expenditure or student refunds, the complexity of managing these flows continues to grow. Universities need to consider the exposure itself, along with the processes and strategies employed to manage it, in order to maximise the effectiveness of foreign exchange in the organisation.
Travelex is the world's largest non-bank provider of corporate foreign exchange solutions to the education sector. In Australia we work with the majority of Australia's leading institutions to help them manage their FX exposure. Travelex provide a range of solutions including payment automation for both sending and receiving foreign currency, pre-paid currency cards to manage university travel and expenses, incoming student payment solutions, as well as a comprehensive range of FX products.
