The National University Finance & Procurement Conference, now in its eleventh year, provides a proactive forum for university management professionals to meet and discuss current issues impacting the higher education sector in the specific areas of financial management and strategic procurement.

The Conference provides a unique opportunity for the business sector to join with university delegates in an exploration of changing trends in financial management and strategic procurement in higher education. It is relevant to university staff involved in finance, finance systems, procurement, purchasing, travel and associated areas in Higher Education.

The 2011 Theme is "Balancing the Scales: The Challenges".

The 2011 Theme will explore the current and future challenges faced by universities looking to develop as financially secure and sustainable organizations.  Sessions will address university achievements and the innovative planning required to maintain and/or achieve economic viability, covering issues such as fraud, misconduct and the financial consequences, and the pressures of implied restraint alluding to sustainability while advocating growth and consumption.  Consideration needs to be given to questions such as: Is this the only way to remain profitable?  How are universities balancing or addressing such issues?  Other challenges to be addressed and proactive solutions found & implemented.

The conference was held between Monday 25th and Wednesday 27th July, 2011 in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.
