Commodities and Services

The AUPN Executive Committee, in consultation with the higher education sector, determined a selection of commodities and services (in no particular order) which may be benchmarked over the three year project. This list is reviewed prior to the selection of categories for each phase of the Programme.

The first three sub-projects started in February 2007 and were completed in June/July 2007. The final sub-project for Phase 1 - Travel, commenced at the end of July and was completed in November 2007. This was followed by Multifunction Devices, Transaction Banking, Telecommunications and PCs & Laptops completing Phase 2.

Workshops have been held to review the outcomes from each of the completed categories. These were not only intended to provide participating universities with an opportunity to develop strategies for attaining best practice for their university but also to develop potential benefits, savings and future direction across the sector through collaboration and sharing.

The sector was consulted to determine the categories for Phase 3 when options to repeat earlier commodities or extend the range were considered. Printing, Advertising and professional Services have been chosen, leaving the fourth category yet to be decided.

Participating members of each sub-category may select the relevant link below to access associated guidelines, templates, reports or documents. Each Sub-Project is secured and you will only be able to gain access to the categories you are participating in. Further Category links/documents will be added as they become available.

Extensive guidelines have been developed to assist universities participating in the Programme as a whole, and for each of the sub-projects individually and data templates are provided for each sub-project to assist participants in capturing their confidential purchasing data from suppliers.

All universities who have indicated they would like to participate in the ANHEPBP have completed two surveys since late 2006 to indicate their preference of categories. These have been reviewed as the Programme progressed and additional surveys undertaken.
