Oracle Reseller Services

Consortium clients and other universities often choose to purchase licensing for new Oracle technology products through the HES Oracle Reseller Agreement.

HES is a member of the Oracle Partner Network and provides quotation and ordering services for universities and other research and educational bodies on a wide range of Oracle technology software and tools. Through its arrangements with Oracle, HES is able to pass additional discounts back to universities above the discounted higher education price list for all purchases made through HES. This benefit results in significant savings for universities who choose to direct their Oracle technology procurement through HES. In addition, HES is able to provide a range of advice to universities with regard to Oracle products and licence metrics.

Aggregated Licence Procurement

From time to time, HES renegotiates aggregated licensing arrangements at advantageous commercial prices for all universities. HES also works closely with Oracle to develop special offers for the higher education sector, allowing discounted volume licensing to be shared amongst a number of institutions. These initiatives reduce the overall cost of licensing for participating organizations.

For example, in 2007, participating universities made significant savings when buying RAC through a one-off aggregated purchasing deal arranged by HES.
