Conversion of Research Codes

The ABS recently released a new set of ANZRC research codes.

The University of New England has developed an online tool to assist in the translation from old to new research codes. Access to the tool is via the Research Administrators Wiki:
http://www.radwiki.edu.au/index.php/Research_codes#Conversion_of_Research_Codes

Research Offices will be faced with the task of converting old RFCD and SEO codes into the new codes. In some cases there will be a one-to-one match between an old code and the new code, but in other cases there will only be a partial match and further investigation may be required to change the code. The codes used to classify research activity are important as the FOR codes are being used to determine research discipline clusters in the Excellence in Research for Australia, so ensuring an accurate conversion is critical.

The RAdWiki pilot is being developed by Higher Ed Services, a subsidiary of Universities Australia, and the Collaborative Research Administrators Group as resource for research administrators.

Please feel free to use the Research Code conversion tool and provide any feedback on the RAdWiki tool.
