ARMS Product Description

ARMS has been designed and developed using Oracle software development tools and technology. It has a graphical user interface (GUI) and client-server architecture.

ARMS provides the necessary additional functionality to Oracle Financials for the secure management of receipting in a higher education context. It provides secure front-line teller cashiering functions, whilst interfacing to university debt originating systems such as a Student Information system and also to a Financials system for Accounts Receivable and General Ledger posting.

ARMS addresses the needs of the cashiering function by providing a system to assist in the management of the diversity of receipting activities.

The major functions of ARMS are to:

  • capture, modify and print a diversity of receipt transaction types in a single entry screen
  • cater for a variety of payment forms including cash, cheque, money order, debit/credit card. (Note: ARMS does not support EFTPOS)
  • modify, cancel or re-print a receipt
  • on-line link to Oracle Financials Accounts Receivable Debtors
  • receipt enquiries
  • serve on-line enquiries of transactions and till balances
  • provide receipt reporting including Banking reports
  • post receipts transactions to Oracle Financials modules:
  • Accounts Receivable for receipts against Debtor Invoices
  • General Ledger for receipts other than Debtor Invoices
  • allow on-line interaction with other Oracle tables containing Student and Fee information
  • provide flat files for non-Oracle systems that may generate fees/ debts e.g. students, parking, library
  • provide additional security for the ARMS application from unauthorised access.

ARMS is delivered with direct links to Oracle's Accounts Receivable and General Ledger modules. Easily identifiable access routines are provided to allow customisation to directly access other financial systems.
